The answer is none according to Mark Turrel CEO of Imaginatik. Or at least very few. At his blog Innovation BBL, he has a great post about how companies do not reap the full potential of their collaborative IT-investments. He writes “The problem with most technologies purchased by organizations is that the end users (i.e. ‘people’) either do not use the tools at all, or use them to a tiny fraction of their capabilities.”

Why is that? Well, why should they. Why should people comment on the company blog or post on the intranet?

We believe that it is extremely important to give people an incentive to get involved. Make up a competition. Whether it’s about coming up with the best idea or being best to forecast the competitors next move, there will be something in it for me, if I can or win a trip to Paris or just show off to my colleagues.
